OOPS! I did it again.

Got bored arbitrating, feeling like the Maytag repairman at Papo & Lynn's GRMA. Jumped into black belt over 35 and took weapons and forms. Then Dwayne McKinney spanked me in sparring (although I scored first, and gave him the toughest time of anybody as he went on to his first).

Now the real work! Getting prepared for our tournament!

Congrats to Mikki Bort! Great tourney. Well run, with great competition. People loved the swords. The season is picking up steam, and the competition is getting good! Next up is Papo Villarrubia's GRMA. See you all there!

Cinco de Mayo and Gaffar Adam's tourney complete. I jumped into competition there for the first time in 5 years, spur of the moment. I just hated sitting on the sidelines watching others. Took a first in Forms, 2nd in Weapons, 3rd in Fighting and Kata Grand Champ. Can't wait til I start to train. I could get good!

I enjoyed the camaraderie, and finding out what I could pull out of myself. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Congrats to Gaff on having a fun, well organized event.

As I sit by the water in Florida, watching a pelican search the waters for his breakfast, I am writing and comptemplating the future of PKC4. I see so much potential. continued

Congratulations to Master Barton on a successful King Cobra Open. It was well attended, fielded some great competitors, and was well organized and judged. The coverage by local media was amazing, as was the amount of spectators. Everything went smoothly and ended early, leaving no rush to the banquet.

The banquet was great, with abundant food and drink, happy winners receiving beautiful and usually multiple awards. continued

The competition was excellent at Papo and Lynn Villarrubia’s 11th Annual Greater Rochester International Martial Arts Championship.  Competitors from Canada, NY, Pennsylvania and Ohio met on the battlefield to vie for double points as the PKC National season comes to an end.

Unique to this tournament is the demonstration competition which gets better each year as Dojo’s compete for the bragging rights.  This is very different, exciting and enjoyable: music, choreography, and interesting patterns of movement.

The coordinators, including Ed Trotman and Ron Cain, did a great job keeping the action going. going, going. We finished two hours ahead of the previous year, with more divisions and about the same number of competitors.  That’s PKC4 ! We are in gear to help make tournament competition  run efficiently, fairly, smoothly . This allowis competitors and their family’s the opportunity to get home early.

There is only one more tournament remaining in Region IV before the National ratings close out.  Master Bill Adams and Sensei Jessy Del Valle present the Rising Star Martial Arts Tournament.  This takes place Saturday June 21, 2008 at 3211 Transit Rd Elma, NY 14059.

Master Adams, our NY State director, will host this double point rated event allowing PKC members one last chance to accrue points for National titles in Region IV.  Regardless of which State you reside every member of the PKC can take advantage of this tournament to rack more points.  Not only does this help secure National titles, but, it also adds to the Region IV standing which does not close out until December 31, 2008.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at this event, enjoying the camaraderie and awesome competition.  Don’t get caught short on your points, secure your title with a win at this tournament.  If you don’t attend and come up short, you’ll be kicking yourself for not being there.  Just when you think it’s in the bag, someone will come from behind and take it away.  Don’t let this happen to you.

Here I am in Los Angeles, California enjoying an awesome vacation.  There is so much to see and do that I’ll look forward to coming back to LA again.

Spring is finally here and was right on track in the middle of the competition season. Although we did not have any PKC4 rated events in March, were still moving forward with the development of our region series and web site.

The first banquet celebrating the new PKC4. What a wonderful way to say "Thank You" to all the people supporting PKC Pennsylvania, and welcoming them to PKC4.
